| We are fortunate at this
time to have in our restoration inventory a 1937 Stinson Reliant
that is arguably the finest example of the Gullwing Reliant
series in existence. We are offering a position for 2004 delivery,
and there is no doubt that when finished, it will be the premier
example of this legendary type. You may ask...Why is this
airplane so special?
- Never in commercial military, airline or government service.
It has always been a prized personal possession.
- Never restored...meaning that none of the intricate aluminum
fairings, or any other parts, have been hammered, welded,
filled with bondo, or otherwise molested by a restoration
attempt
- Every piece, part, and assembly, including the leather
upholstered interior, is exactly as Stinson crafted and
installed in 1937
- No damage history...an absolute pristine airframe
- Only 1266 hours total time
- Six owners since new, and always operational until taken
out of service for recover. The last owner had possession
of the airplane for 37 years. When disassembled for recover,
it was meticulously inventoried and each removed part carefully
stored. Failing health halted the project, and the owners
demise resulted in our acquiring the aircraft.
We can complete this airplane for a discriminating collector
for 2004 delivery. The completed aircraft will, of course,
be to our Grand Champion standards and will feature...
- Stinson's traditional custom paint style in state-of-the-art
polyurethane finish.
- A full leather interior done by Airovation, the premier
upholstery house in the U.S.
- State-of-the-art avionics (GPS/Com, Tnspder, Encoder,
5 place intercom)
- New Cleveland wheels and brakes
- Engine overhaul by Radial Engines Ltd., propeller by Maxwell.
- All new assembly hardware and control cables.
- All systems and assemblies replaced with new, replaced
with NOS, or refurbished to new standards.
