Karen
Redman
(CFI) Certified Flight
Instructor, CFII (Instrument), MEI (Multi-Engine). |
Karen
began flying her junior year of high school
in beautiful Seattle, Washington. In 1997
Karen moved to Prescott, Arizona where she
attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
After four years of college, a BS in Aeronautical
Science, and a Multi/Single Engine Commercial
Certificate, Karen moved to Rochester, Minnesota.
She obtained her CFI and CFII in April 2001
and began instructing in Albert Lea, Minnesota
for MN Aviation. In February 2002, while
working full-time, she obtained her MEI
in just three days. She joined the RARE
Aircraft team in the summer of 2002, and
has seen the flight school through tremendous
growth. Karen’s goal is to continue
to expand the RARE Aircraft flight school
and to meet the training needs of her local
aviation community.

Derek
Drilling
(CFI) Certified Flight Instructor |

Derek
grew up in Sandstone, MN and began his
aviation training while attending college
in Duluth, MN. Shortly after his training
began Derek moved to Daytona Beech where
he obtained his Private Pilot Certificate,
Commercial Single Engine Land and Multi-Engine
Land Certificate, Instrument Rating and
Certified Flight Instructor Certificate.
As of June, 2007 he is back with us in
lovely Minnesota working as a full time
instructor for RARE Aircraft. Derek obtained
all of his certificates and ratings in
less than two years and feels confident
that he can get you through your training
in a time efficient manner while maintaining
a high quality training environment. Derek's
goal is to one day find a Corporate Flight
Job that's close to home.

Jenny Trapp
(CFI) Certified Flight Instructor |
Jenny grew up
in Faribault, MN and gained an interest
in flying at the age of 8 when she took
her first airplane ride. At the age of 14
she enrolled in a Private Pilot Ground School.
Jenny attended St. Cloud State University
where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree
in Aviation Flight Operations. At the same
time she earned her Private, Multi-Engine
Instrument Certificate. After graduation
Jenny worked as an Intern for the Metropolitan
Airport Authority, Mesaba and finally ended
up at Northwest Airlines. During the summer
of 2002 Jenny earned her Commercial and
CFI certificate and started working for
RARE Aircraft. Jenny's goal is to one-day
work as a pilot for an airline.
